Joint Commission on Public Ethics (JCOPE) releases its 2017 Annual Report

 In News

Yesterday, the Joint Commission on Public Ethics (JCOPE) released its 2017 Annual Report summarizing its regulatory activities regarding ethics and lobbying. The report notes a slight decline in lobbying activity in 2017 as compared to 2016 and essentially flat spending on lobbying. Against this backdrop, we were particularly pleased to again rank second among professional lobbyists in total compensation and reimbursed expenses. Notably, our compensation and expenses grew 24 percent. Measured by number of clients, we moved from fourth highest to second with an increase of 35 clients or nearly 23 percent.

We wanted to share this good news with you and, more importantly, thank you for the continued trust you place in the Brown & Weinraub team. As always, we pledge to continue to provide strategic advisory and government relations services with integrity and a commitment to excellence.
