NYS Request for HELP

 In News

While doing everything NYS can to respond to the COVID-19, and continuing to request needed federal help, Governor Cuomo is beginning to look beyond the crisis.

The Governor and Legislature are continuing to negotiate the SFY2020 budget and hope to move toward an on-time or early budget as soon as later this week.

Economic Stimulus – NY FORWARD

Recognizing the negative economic impact of business and other restrictions, the Governor wants NY to be positioned for economic growth post-crisis.

Brown & Weinraub is encouraging clients to think about economic stimulus projects that are shovel-ready and could provide a much-needed economic boost to the state in the coming months. Ideas that engage members of the workforce currently facing unemployment will be particularly helpful.

[We will share information about NY FORWARD when it is published.]

Message from David Weinraub:

If everyone did one nice thing that they don’t usually do – any nice thing for another – this might go better and faster. Check on a neighbor; go shopping for someone else; buy someone a meal; pay your bar tab in advance; buy a gift certificate. Keep the engine going if it’s safe… it is more important now than ever.

NYS has developed a system to handle offers of donated goods, services, and space; interested donors may use the New York State COVID-19 Volunteer and Donation Assistance form.

Offers submitted through the form will be reviewed, referred, vetted, accepted, and distributed on a rolling-basis by a multi-agency team. This form will replace the COVID-19 Assistance e-mail address <[email protected]> which served as an interim measure to receive these offers.

While a permanent public health emergency charitable gifts trust fund is being established, direct financial donations can be submitted through HRI using this form.
