Summer 2026 marks 25 years since the start of Brown & Weinraub, New York's top government relations and strategic consulting firm. To celebrate, the firm held a recognition dinner with key founders, clients, and team members from across the state.
Founded by Patrick Brown and David Weinraub in 2001, the firm has grown from a two-person partnership into New York State’s most influential lobbying practice. Today, the firm is led by Alexander Betke, Carolyn Kerr, and Michael Cassidy, and has grown to 30+ team members representing over 300 clients at the state and federal levels.
“We were intentional about creating a firm that could survive despite occasional government, political or business disruptions. We brought in top people and we were fortunate in attracting clients from different sectors. We tried hard to do a good job and that was the foundation.” - Co-Founder David Weinraub.
Brown & Weinraub has built a reputation for insight, relationships, and strategy few firms can match, earning the position as New York's #1 ranked lobbying firm year after year. The firm's growth has been fueled by an expanding health care practice and a broadening base of energy and technology clients looking to grow their presence in New York.
That momentum continues into the anniversary chapter. In 2025, the firm expanded its New York City footprint, bringing on a team of experienced land use and culture lobbyists to strengthen its work across the five boroughs.
