Welcome Caroline Griffin!

Caroline Griffin joins Brown & Weinraub following an impressive career in NYS government and politics during which she served in senior roles for four Governors. Her experience in procurement, financing, coalition building, political strategy, and campaign management will strengthen the firm’s expertise.

Most recently, she served as Chief of Staff at the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York (DASNY), one of the nation’s leading public construction, procurement, and financing authorities. In that role, Caroline advised the authority’s CEOs and leadership team, and was primary liaison with the Governor’s Office, New York State Division of Budget, and Executive Agencies. Her responsibilities included oversight of policy and operations across all DASNY business lines, and management of DASNY’s grant administration, communications, marketing, intergovernmental affairs, and environmental affairs units.

Caroline’s senior leadership positions in the Executive Chamber included Assistant Executive Deputy Secretary where she oversaw the management of the Governor’s regional offices and managed all aspects of the Governor’s event and scheduling operations. As Director of Intergovernmental Affairs Caroline was the chief liaison between the Governor and Executive Agencies with federal, state, and local elected officials from around the state. She was responsible for developing and implementing legislative outreach campaigns and political strategies to advance gubernatorial legislative priorities and building strategic partnerships and coalitions with key stakeholders to advance initiatives.

Caroline began her career as the Upstate Political Director for the New York State Democratic Party where she managed several campaigns for elected officials across the State.
